2007 - The Year of Liverpool's 800th Birthday
Liverpool is celebrating its 800th birthday this year 2007.
As part of the celebrations the city of Liverpool will be hosting a variety of heritage themed events, festivals, performances, debates, exhibitions, lectures and films.
2007 Turner Prize

Maritime Festival

Liverpool will celebrate its nautical roots with a maritime festival, encompassing the homecoming of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race and the spectacular start of The Tall Ships' Races 2008 - expected to attract a million spectators to the banks of the River Mersey..
